Overconfidence Wins

I took a cab and it showed a particular route. The driver was confused and I requested a shorter route. The driver told me that he knows another route which is better but deep on my heart I knew that my route was better.

Believe me, I’ll win he said consistently.

I asked him that if he knew the city well and also suggested that I was born here and have a little better knowledge. But all in vain. We took the route and got stuck in bad traffic and I reached the destination quite late.

He was courteous to ask for forgiveness and I was courteous to forgive and forget. It was a classic case of overconfidence and really, the won.
