Bhumi Mathuria, a dear friend is a radical thinker. She’s a graduate in psychology, a community servant, ladder, dreamer, philanthropist, and now a life designer; like her father Yogeshbhai who is one of the designers of my life.
She has started something called Samarpan that is a Dance Movement Therapy — DMT — initiative in Bangalore. Its prayer is to reach stillness through the medium of dance, art, therapy, and meditation.
DMT is the psychotherapeutic use of movement and dance to support the intellectual, emotional, and motor functions of the body. Research has found that using dance movements as a form of therapy activates several brain functions at once — kinesthetic, rational, musical, and emotional. This type of movement requires mental, physical, and emotional strength to work simultaneously, causing a full body and soul workout.
She has been an active member of the Moved By Love community when I met her first; in a seva retreat. She was radiant and I learned so many things from here in a matter of days. She’s one of the selected — and blessed — humans who might change the world; forever.
With people like her, I’m sure, the renaissance of peace is just around the corner.
This is beautiful, I will try to find more about the movements itself on youtube. I was included in a workshop similar to this we used dance as a way of meditating, it’s really awesome for body and soul.
